He is secretly in love with the receptionist that works at the front desk on weekends. He will not do anything about it though, because he fears rejection. He looks in the mirror all the time, wondering what she doesn’t see in him.
Malus enjoys taking his friends to his house after work and watching the latest video tape. He enjoys getting captivated by the character’s exciting worlds. It takes his mind off the hunger that tries to keep a man awake at night. He gets frightened in all this darkness, so he gets nightmares, and hates to sleep alone.
Malus is proud that he was born in ‘52, the same year as John Goodman. His mother spent long hours birthing him. He often calls telegrams her, and says, “Momma, I did not mean to make you cry. If I am not back again this time tomorrow, then carry on, carry on.”
Malus lives for cake. He really loves cake. Cake and brownies are his main passion. Once, his buddies played a trick where they hid all of his brownies and cake. He left in tears and he ran, he ran so far away. He just ran, He ran all night and day. He couldn't get away. But he came back.
Malus is running away from his past. Sometimes Malus wishes there was a freeway running through the yard, because he thinks he is a bad boy because he does not even miss her. He is a bad boy for breaking her heart. He wishes he had not done many of the things he has done in his life. He has made a new start at the Beatus Hotel.
